1. SET A WEDDING DATE

We always recommend, before diving into the deep end of dress shopping, that you & your partner decide on your wedding date first.

Our wedding gowns are special ordered for each individual bride, and can take anywhere between 6-9 months to arrive from the designer. Therefore having a wedding date set will allow your stylist to have a timeframe in mind when working with you and pulling dresses. Having a date set & a venue chosen prior to shopping will also allow you to narrow down and find the right dress that's not only perfect for you, but also perfect for the setting of your wedding.

…I mean you wouldn’t want to choose a long sleeve heavy satin ball gown and then decide to get married in Mexico on the beach…right?

2. BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT

Once you have set your date…BOOK THAT APPOINTMENT BABY!

We always recommend to start shopping 10-12 months prior to your wedding!

…this ensures that you have enough time for your gown to arrive from the designer without any rush fees & that you have the best possible timeline for your alterations as well.

If you’re getting married sooner, or began shopping later than expected…no worries! We carry loads of dresses that can be sold off the rack & we have the ability to check the designer’s warehouses to see what gowns are in stock, in your size, & ready to ship sooner!

3. START GATHERING INSPIRATION!

Let the fun & creativity begin!

It doesn’t matter if you have no clue where to begin, or if you’ve had a wedding Pinterest board since 2011…gathering inspiration is super fun & more important than you think for the dress shopping experience!

All the details from dress silhouette to what types of details, browse around at photos and see sticks out to you. This will give yourself & your stylist a starting off point and eventually lead you down the path to your dream dress!

L&L Tip: Don’t gather inspiration and turn it into a checklist of everything your gown has to have. Instead, use this process to guide yourself towards the different parts of certain gowns that you’re drawn to…you don’t wait to put yourself in a box because you never know what you’ll fall in love with!
